Old El Paso Steak Quesadillas

I’m not a fan of boxed foods, but sometimes you need something in a pinch. So, I’m always willing to try something once and give it the benefit of the doubt. My Blog Spark is a company that has been around for quite some time. They’ve gone through some changes so it’s been a while since I’ve received a campaign from them.

I was actually excited when the tour came through for Old El Paso because I have used some of their taco mix and shell products so I thought maybe a premade meal would be alright to test.

An interesting thing happened though. True story. I applied for this and then never heard back. The email states only winners will be notified. I was never notified. I just happened to get a package left on my doorstep some weeks later. By that time I had deleted the email. I tried emailing support and other managers of My Blog Spark for guidance and never received a reply.

I went ahead and used my free coupon and was disappointed that my local Kroger had a whopping 6 items to choose from. None of them were really all that healthy. I picked the steak because this would be the best luck I would have to get my husband to eat it.

We  made these for lunch and paired them with some black beans. We served them on a pretty party taco platter which also came with my free coupon. I also got a $10 Visa gift card. Again, I had no clue what I was supposed to do with. I ended up using it on a Christmas present for kiddo.

*shrugs*

Well, the other day I got an email stating I never sent in my winner.

Winner?

What winner? I don’t even know whats going on here.

Oh yeah, I happened to randomly find this email in my SPAM.

Great.

So, I clicked the link and found I was to pick a winner for the El Paso giveaway.

Oops. Well thanks My Blog Spark for keeping me in the loop. And yes, I do regularly check my SPAM and nothing was ever lingering in there.

So, I opened my emails and randomly clicked. Donna S. was my winner.

Now, back to the Steak Quesadillas. They were OK. But for $8 I won’t buy them. They were 640 calories and 12 grams of fat. Nothing good fat about them. I wasn’t impressed. The sodium content was through the roof.
