Ch-Ch-Changes! I'm a Certified Foodie

YUM button

There are some changes brewing up around here at YUM. It just goes to show that hard work and dedication do pay off in the blogosphere. For the first time I’ve been accepted into a blogging ad network. Most of you know/heard  of BlogHer and while I have applied to BlogHer in the past with one of my other sites I didn’t get accepted. I never bothered with any of my other sites after that. Mostly because most of my time was spent working on school and a lot less time was spent worrying about my websites.  I’ve been done with my MBA since June. Since then I’ve been trying to figure out what direction I want my writing to go in. I was getting burned by private clients and revenue share was having a constant battle with Google.

There were things I wanted to do in life. Over the summer the idea of YUM just came to me. I’ve been happily blogging since. It hasn’t been easy. I’ve had to work longer hours but it has been worth it.

You may have noticed some changes with my advertising. I mentioned some of it in my October  income report. The Lijit ads are gone. I’ve done some rearranging. I had to change StudioPress themes. Now I am really excited that it’s Christmas season and I can use an old background that Miranda made for me for one of my old blogs. It fits perfectly here! So, I’ll be updating other parts of my site to match.

The best part is (and the reason for all the changes) I was accepted into the Foodie vertical of the Glam Network by Glam Media. I’m actually a pretty big fan of Foodie. There’s some great food porn photography there and I find myself scrolling through it much like I do Pinterest. Dangerous. Foodie is pretty new, but I am still excited to be a part of it. I think it’s going to be a good thing for YUM and could potentially open many doors.
