O.M.G. Mitten Crate is After My Heart

I was scrolling through my Facebook feed when I saw an article from The Hungry Dudes called [New Product] Mitten Crate. Well, actually what caught my attention was the announcement that they were giving away TWO Mitten Crates for November. They are picking a winner on November 10, so if this is something you’re interested in get your rear end over there. You don’t have to live in MI!
I gotta tell you, I’m in love with Michigan food. I was born here but we relocated to OK when I was pretty young. So my grandparents would always send my mother a care package a few times a year with her favorite MI treats. When we would come back for summer vacations and holidays we would always pack our cooler with the same treats before packing the car for our 1600 mile trip home.
I’ll say it again. I’m in love with Michigan food.
Sure, I loved Oklahoma food too, but there is something different about Michigan food that I have never been able to put my finger on. Memories? Maybe. Family? Could be. Either way, I was excited to see a subscription box service just for Michigan food. Now that I am back you would think I would have plenty of MI food at my disposal. Not true. Small town living at its finest.
I was a little bummed I had not heard of this service sooner. 🙁 With all the subscription box companies that flood my website emails begging for attention…. 😉
By the looks of their Facebook page the website was launched in August. Ok. Maybe I don’t feel so bad for not hearing about them sooner.

In all fairness I live in a small tiny town an hour north of Detroit. I’m not likely to be privy to any Detroit information this far away which is where all the good foodie information seems to come from with the exception of Traverse City (gosh I love that place!)
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with you guys because I am super-duper excited about Mitten Crate and I want nothing more than to help spread the good word. I’m hoping to get a subscription for Christmas. It will save me from hunting stuff down at the store. They rotate MI products but not as often as this box would.
