Publish Your Lunch: How to Earn Money Food Blogging
Publish Your Lunch: How to Earn Money Food Blogging is budget friendly and a quick read. Michael and Patty Hultquist run the popular hot site Jalapeno Madness (along with quite a few other hot pepper niche sites.)
I wanted to give this book a proper review during BlogHer October NaBloPoMo because I honestly felt for $3.99 “Publish Your Lunch” was worth every penny. I’m hoping as a few people stop by through the BlogHer tour it might get into the hands of some other bloggers considering a food blog or those who have just started a food blog. It is not as in-depth as “Food Blogging for Dummies“, however it’s a fraction of the price and is a good starting point.
If you have roamed around the Internet for any length of time you know there are a lot of different food blog out there. If you are a blogger you also know the ways to monetize your blog are endless. It is impossible for any one of us to try to cover all of those ways in any book. You are more than welcome to read some of the ways I am starting to monetize and what has helped me so far with my blogging resources, along with my income reports as I build my YUM empire. What you have to remember when you see places like Pinch of Yum and Jalapeno Madness , they have been around for quite some time. I have a long way to go to catch up.
This $3.99 guide can help you get started on the right path to building your own food blog empire. Michael and Patty will help you with ad placement, Google Adsense and the basics, help you out with some other ad networks, they’ll discuss cookbooks, walk you through Google Analytics, tossed in some SEO tricks, help you with your blog, give you some motivation tips, and they even included some interviews with other successful food bloggers, photographers and writers.

I try, but I have a really hard time getting awesome photos of my food. Sure, I get good ones – just not awesome ones.
I incorporate recipes into my blog from time to time..I absolutely love them and am getting better on my photos! This sounds like a great book for $3.99!!
This looks like it would be such a helpful collection of info! Thanks for reviewing it for us!
I love cooking and trying new recipes and I even add the good ones I come up with to my blog on occasion, but my photos of the food are NEVER as appetizing as the meal itself! I’m always impressed with people who can take beautiful food photos!
Although I am not a food blogger I suppose a lot of this could pertain to any niche blog. At the 3.99 price point it is a good investment for any blogger (new or old) to make.
My daughter in law and her sister are contemplating a food blog. I shall share the good word. 🙂
I do better photographing the kids than food. I don’t know if I can ever become a food blogger. 🙂
I’m a terrible photographer so i take bad pictures. Plus I never think to make my food look good.
My photos are really hit or miss. Need to invest more time and adjust my cooking time for better lighting
I used to do more food blogging but as of late I haven’t been cooking much.
