I’m a huge fan of green tea. I drink the goodness year-round. Warm or cold it provides so many health benefits. When I was asked to do a review for Organic Matcha Green Tea Powder I was pretty excited but unsure at the same time.
I do not have any experience with green tea powder.
I just let the cat out of the bag.
My first bag of powder arrived with a giant foot mark on the package and a cloud of green smoke greeted me when I opened my I wanted to bake with it, but looked over a few recipes and was afraid it was going to make my recipes taste weird. So, I thought maybe I should try something simple like a smoothie first. It’s hard for me to make smoothies when the weather is colder. I feel like I am drinking a milkshake and my brain just screams “SUMMER!”
I had no recipe in mind when I made this. I had set out to make a chocolate , peanut butter and banana mixture but again I worried about the chocolate against the green tea.
This mixture ended up being banana, some frozen berries, vanilla protein powder and water.
It turned out fabulous. I made this drink two mornings in a row.
I’m a fan and plan to test the product out with some other recipes. This time, I might have to try the chocolate now that I know how it actually tastes. It does have some bite. It is very earthy. The recommended serving is a tsp. I highly suggest sticking to that for your smoothies. I added a bit more and was still quite happy with the flavor.
