A couple of weeks ago we were shopping at Kroger when I noticed all these banners hanging from the ceiling for a wine and food festival. I had no idea where it was or who was the sponsor. I only knew you could get tickets at Kroger…

I just love this lady. As a youngster I remember vividly my mother watching Julia. We would sit down and watch her together every chance we go. That did not stop as I got older. I always looked forward to watching cooking shows with my mother. I was…

We made another trip to the Flint Farmers Market. A few weeks ago we weren’t able to make it and we stopped by the one in Grand Blanc. It was more of an arts and crafts fair and I was extremely disappointed. It was outside on a street…

Back in December I made the choice to start my little family on the #52WeekMoneyChallenge offered by Stuck at Home Mom.  The challenge offered followers to save $1, 378 in a year. When we initially discussed this we felt this money would give us enough to take a…

I know I complain about living in the country. Truth is, I actually like living in the country. Problem is, I live on the worst street ever. My home, despite its modest 2 acres, faces a highway that connects the smaller towns and is just a couple of…

“She was a gypsy, as soon as you unravelled the many layers to her wild spirit she was on her next quest to discover her magic. She was relentless like that, the woman didn't need no body but an open road, a pen and a couple of sunsets.”

Blood Becoming: Halvyn Dawn by Gail Waterhouse: A Blood Becoming: Halvyn Dawn by Gail Waterhouse: A Paranormal Crime Thriller Review

Some books sound made for a quiet evening with a warm drink. Others make you glance toward the window before turning the page. Blood Becoming: Halvyn Dawn belongs firmly in the second group, which, honestly, can be its own kind of magic....

Dark Ugly Places by Ashley Mansour: The Mind Has S Dark Ugly Places by Ashley Mansour: The Mind Has Secrets of Its Own

I meant to read a few chapters of Dark Ugly Places before bed. Instead, I stayed up until my eyes could read no more, then spent the next day thinking about Nicola, Martha, and everything I still needed to know. I could not wait to finish those last chapters. Every time I thought I understood what was happening, Ashley Mansour gave me another reason to question it....

When Justice Isn’t Simple: A Book Review of All Gu When Justice Isn’t Simple: A Book Review of All Guilty Anyway

I have a confession before we dive into this one. I did not expect a legal thriller to wreck me the way this book did. I picked up All Guilty Anyway by Russell W. Johnson on a quiet Saturday morning, coffee in hand, planning to read a chapter or two before tackling my to-do list. Four hours later, my…...

The Enchanted Pull of Autumn: Why We Fall Under It The Enchanted Pull of Autumn: Why We Fall Under Its Spell Every Year

There is a particular hush that settles over Nevermore Lane in the middle of September. You feel it before you can name it: the light turns a little more golden, the air smells faintly of woodsmoke even when no one nearby has lit a fire, and something in your chest simply exhales. If you have ever found yourself smiling at nothing in particular while pulling a…...

Signs the Season Is Shifting: A Nature Journaling Signs the Season Is Shifting: A Nature Journaling Guide for the Witchy Homebody

I noticed it before I could name it. The light coming through my kitchen window at seven in the morning had gone thin and gold instead of bright and white, and my dog was suddenly wide awake before dawn, pacing the hallway like she had somewhere to be. Nothing dramatic happened. No calendar reminder popped up. But something in the air had quietly rearranged itself overnight, and my body knew it before my brain caught up....

The Wonders of the Night Sky: Exploring Constellat The Wonders of the Night Sky: Exploring Constellations and Astronomy

Have you ever stood beneath a star-filled sky and felt utterly small yet infinitely connected to something greater? That moment when the city lights fade away and the cosmos reveals its ancient secrets, whispering stories that have captivated humanity for thousands of years. Some girls dreamed of veils. I was out back stirri Some girls dreamed of veils. I was out back stirring something in a cauldron and calling it dinner.

There was never a bridal fantasy in me — just dirt under my nails, weeds I swore were medicine, and a pot of something bubbling that probably shouldn’t have been unattended. Turns out that little girl making “witch soup” in the backyard knew exactly who she was long before the rest of the world caught up.

Living life on Nevermore Lane means honoring the version of you that never needed permission to be strange, magical, or a little feral.

Comment below: what did you get in trouble for making/doing as a kid that turned out to be exactly who you were meant to become?
