When I started thinking about some new recipes I wanted to create this March, I immediately started thinking about Scottish Pie. While not Irish, still very Celtic and often sold in many Ireland destinations – with lamb. Welcome to my new favorite breakfast. Avocado’s aren’t really in season here right now but I was able to pick up a few the other day for 88 cents each! That’s a steal. For the longest time I wasn’t a huge fan of all things hot and mighty. All that changed when Buffalo Wild Wings graced the streets of Stillwater, OK around 2006. Prior to that about as warm as I went was medium salsa. Since then I have tested my levels of heat. Over the years I have learned that just because a sauce is super hot doesn’t mean it’s good. If it is going to have heat, it needs to have flavor, too. Unfortunately that is really hard to come by. We have about 20 varieties of hot sauce in the house. The most used is Frank’s Red Hot. I love peanut butter. It’s a treat that stems all the way back to my childhood when my and my neighborhood friend would spend our summers creating the most off the wall food eats. At 9 we thought we were fancy smancy taking peanut butter and jelly and smashing it into my mothers martini glasses. It was fab-u-lous I am telling you. I do think all that PB&J ruined me in the sandwich department because I don’t really get excited for PB&J sandwiches anymore.
