With the Circus of Whiskers under wraps, it was time for us to visit some fun and funky places close to Detroit where the Drooler hadn’t been before. One stop had to be the University of Michigan and Downtown Ann Arbor, or A2 as we mitten folk call it. Deciding on what to have for lunch was super easy since we all love our sushi. I wanted to pick a place I had never tried before so I headed right for my trusty Yelp app to hit up my fellow Yelp Elite members to see what was on the up and up in the sushi department.
One of the reasons I haven’t been blogging as much as I used to is because I have been living a life full of beards. Seriously. It seems like I eat, sleep, breath beards these days. Some of you may remember I was seeing someone at the first of the year and we had made some cute long distance open when cards. Things didn’t work out there, but I started seeing someone else shortly after. These two started what I call, “The year of beards.” If not for beard 1, I would not have met beard 2, and if not for him I would not have found myself in a Facebook group which in turn led me and a fellow blogger to open our own beard group – Beards and the Babes Who Love Them. You guys! I am having the most amazing adventure! It all started with the idea to take a cross-country train tip. I put that plan in action and took a train from Michigan to Washington state. After hanging out in Seattle for a few days, I flew in to San Jose, California where my friend Sammi and I met up with our friend Jenny. From the airport we went to Santa Cruz where we spent a few beautiful sunshine days just soaking up some heat. [Read more…]
Now that I’ve talked about why I wanted to take a train across the United States (part 1) and a little bit about how that turned out, (part 2) now it’s time to dive in to some sight-seeing!
After almost three days on the train, Sammi and I couldn’t wait to get to the hotel and take a shower; washing away that train. But, we had to sit in the Seattle station for a little bit because our friend Zuri was coming in from Montana to pick us up. I had someone near to my heart who was coming as well, but I wasn’t really wanting that person to pick our train dirt selves up from the train station. Living in WA, they had the shortest drive.
