The Signs That You Need a Thorough Deep Clean for Your Home

There comes a point where you clean the house and somehow it still doesn’t feel clean – the kitchen sides have been wiped down, the washing’s been done, the floors have been vacuumed, and you’ve spent a good chunk of your day trying to get on top of everything, but when you sit down afterwards something still feels a bit off. You can’t quite put your finger on it, but the place doesn’t feel as fresh as you’d like it to.

The thing is that regular cleaning and deep cleaning aren’t really the same thing – regular cleaning keeps everything ticking along nicely, but every now and then homes need a bit more attention than usual, and there are usually a few signs that tell you when you’ve reached that point. With that in mind, keep reading to find out more.

Your Home Doesn’t Smell Fresh Anymore

One of the first things people often notice is that their home doesn’t smell quite as fresh as it used to, which doesn’t necessarily mean it smells bad, by the way. It’s usually a lot more subtle than that, like you’ll open the front door after being out for a few hours and it just feels a bit stale.

That’s usually because smells can settle into carpets, upholstery, curtains, and all sorts of places that don’t get cleaned as often as the more obvious surfaces, which is why a full clean is important.

You Can’t Fully Relax

This might sound like a strange one, but it makes sense when you think about it because home is supposed to be somewhere you can switch off, but if every time you sit down you’re noticing dusty corners, marks on walls, fingerprints on doors, or jobs you’ve been meaning to do for months, it becomes difficult to properly relax.

Of course, no one’s house is perfect all the time, and that’s completely normal, but if you’re constantly looking around and mentally adding things to a to do list, it might be a sign that a proper deep clean would make a big, positive difference.

The Carpets Are Looking A Bit Tired

Carpets put up with a lot – people walk over them every day, pets lie on them, food gets dropped on them, and dirt gets carried in from outside, as well as much more, and the problem is that a carpet can look reasonably clean on the surface but it’s actually filthy.

That’s why a lot of homeowners eventually decide that vacuuming alone isn’t doing the job anymore and start looking into professional carpet cleaning instead – sometimes giving carpets a proper deep clean can make an entire room feel fresher.

You’ve Started Ignoring Things

At first you notice the marks on the skirting boards, the dust on top of the cupboards, or the corners that need attention, but then after a while you stop noticing them altogether because they’ve been there for so long.

That’s often when a deep clean can make the biggest difference because it tackles all those jobs that have gradually slipped into the background, and once they’re gone, the whole house can feel much easier to enjoy spending time in.
