Happy 9th Birthday to my Sous Chef
YUM fans, today is this beautiful girls 9th birthday! My little sous chef is growing up. I can’t believe she was 3 when she came into my life.
When embarking on the path to step-parent-hood it can be full of twists and turns. While the outside drama certainly keeps me on my toes, I have to say that I could not ask for a better kiddo.
So please YUM fans, please help me in wishing her a Happy 9th Birthday!
We’ve had our share of ups and downs as a family, but she’s always been there to keep cheering us on.
She also has her very own kitchen downstairs in the basement.
In the kitchen she is a mini-me even if she’s not mine biologically.
I love being able to teach her all of the things my mother and grandmother taught me about food and cooking. I hope someday she’ll be able to use all of the things I am teaching her.
She’s not just my step-daughter, she’s also one of my best friends.
I love you ‘butter,’ Happy Birthday.
So..what did we get her for her birthday?
Well, I’m glad you asked!
I remember when I was nine my mother purchased Loves Babysoft perfume for me. It’s like the right of passage. Time to step away from princess and venture into the big-girl world. She loved. We celebrated her birthday over the weekend since she doesn’t live with us during the week.
I also got her this super cute outfit from Kmart that was 60% off. It came with a long sleeve grey shirt and a hot pink sweater poncho with black leggings. These leggings have hot pink , white, and grey rock star stuff all over them like sculls and crossbones. She loved it. Taped to the bottom of the box was an envelope.
Inside that envelope was something that I was so excited to be able to get for her.
3 Tickets to Katy Perry.
I can’t wait until August when I get to share this with her, dragging her father of course. 😉
And for your enjoyment, here’s a little video we took. You’ll see me screaming right along with her.
Happy Birthday. You work so hard at being a great step-Mom it is wonderful to hear.
Aww thanks. I do try and do my best when it comes to her.
Happy birthday to your cutie! My husband is taking our girl (13) to see Katy Perry in Julie. It will be her first big concert and their first big daddy/daughter adventure.
I’m pretty excited about it. I think it will be a lot of fun for us all. It will be her first big concert and our first as a family as well.
