Dear feet, I’m sorry you haven’t pounded pavement in a while or kicked up dirt in the trails.
Today you will, and you will hurt.
Dear hips, I’m sorry I’ve kept you idle for too long.
Today you will move and you won’t be happy.
Dear mind, I’m sorry I’ve kept you chained for too long.
Today I shall set you free.
Dear body, I’m sorry I haven’t taken very good care of you these last couple of weeks and today I know you shall punish me.
But, dear self, I shall enjoy every minute of minute of my shieldmaiden training because the battles that are coming, I will not lose.
