Me and My Hair
Okie doke. So we have been talking about getting healthy and what I put inside of my body, now it is time to talk about the outside.
As some of you who have been reading my websites for a while may remember, I usually donate my hair every 12-18 months to the Pantene Great Lengths program which is similar to Locks of Love, but they donate directly to the American Red Cross for FREE wigs. The last year I did it was 2010.
My red hair for Project (Red)
In 2011 I had this brilliant idea that I wanted bright red or fuschia hair. That would have been fine, except I did it myself. Not only that, I bleached my hair twice in two days. I missed some spots that I wanted to fix. So, yeah. I ruined my hair.
First trim and color back
Back to basics and a very short cut.
I colored it back and little by little I cut it off. Summer 2012 I gave it one last whack. That pretty much cut off the last of the unhealthy hair and I have been spending the last year making it long and healthy again.
What you see in the very first photo on the left is after it has been washed, dried out, and curled. The bottom right is when I get out of the shower. My hair is naturally curly so I don’t blow dry it out any more than I have to. Mostly because my hair is pretty thick and its a giant pain in the rear to deal with.
I was contacted by a company, Nisim International, who makes this product called F.A.S.T. (Fortified Amino Scalp Therapy, see what they did there?) which helps to maximize fast healthy hair growth – maximum length in minimal time.
Full disclosure – I received the product for free for an honest review. I am not require to write a positive review. The opinions are my own.
This is a specially formulated shampoo that accelerates hair growth, being clinically proven to grow your hair up to 99% faster. FAST works by feeding the hair with essential nutrients, amino acids and proteins not found in regular shampoos. This special blend provides essential nutrition to hair, making it grow as fast and as healthy as possible.
The shampoo is pretty awesome. It makes a nice rich lather for the small amount I used. What I love is that there are no sulfates, parabens and DEA. That makes it a great healthy product! What I didn’t like was that the smell reminded me a bit of mens bodywash. No big deal. The conditioner has that same smell, but it doesn’t stick around once rinsed. The conditioner was nice and thick. My curly hair was easy to comb out for the pic. It only took about 3 seconds before my curls started to appear. I noticed my hair was a lot softer and had a lot less frizz.
Ok, having said that I have used the product one time. I will use it every day – as directed and then report back when my bottles are empty.
The company wants to give my readers a chance to win the same package that I am using. So please enter the contest and when you win, let me know how it works for you!
UPDATE 7/31/2013 – I am STILL working on my bottles so I have decided to extend the contest. Plus – no one entered! BOO!! Enter! It’s free and you could be a winner!
