Nevermore Lane is a long-standing project. I’ve always been fascinated with Edgar Allen Poe and his works. I started multiple websites over the years and one-by-one, chipped away at them. A few years ago I stared YUM eating. I poured my heart and soul in to it. And, while I love cooking, it took me away from other types of creations. My heart lies with fiction and crafts. I find I am much more relaxed and at peace when doing these types of creations. When it came time to come up with a new website for more of a lifestyle feel, I started with names that would signify all things of the home. That is where ‘Lane” came from. I stared playing around with some of my favorite authors and fictional characters because the street I live on is a rather boring name. Nevermore just blurted out and I’ve been stuck on it ever since.
The jewelry side of Nevermore Lane is something that started in my teen years as a joint venture with my mother. We had a side business putting together broken jewelry; a side project that lasted many years. We put it on hold for a while, but now we are back in business.
We buy broken, damaged, estate sale, garage sale, wholesale, store returns, items people no longer want, thrift stores, estate sales and other pieces of jewelry. We repair, reuse, repurpose, rejuvenate, recycle, upcycle, clean, rip apart, and put back together. We create something new out of something used.
If you happen to spot something in my store that looks like/similar something you’ve seen in a big chain store – it’s likely we repaired it, swapped some parts or pieces and/or did something to make it new again. But, the majority of our pieces will end up being one-of-a-kind due to the creation process.
