It snowed here in Michigan. Yup. On Halloween. We all know that when it snows on Halloween that it is a bad sign of how things will end up being for the winter. And for that I have this to say: [Read more…]
Have you ever had one of those moments where you weren’t really happy with how something turned out but you went ahead and pushed forward anyway? That’s kinda how I feel about these photos. I tried so many different props. White board, no white board. Zoom, no zoom. This chili just wasn’t having a photographic moment. To hell with it. I am going to post this recipe anyway. Yup, that’s me. I tend to do that from time to time. I know a lot of bloggers out there will scrap the recipe until they get the perfect photo. But you know what? I am not a photographer. I am STILLLLLL learning how to use the camera a year later. I am still trying to figure out how to get great pictures in my house. The sun only shines through my main window for so long. Now, it’s starting to get a little grey. [Read more…]
If you’ve been following along this week then you know I have had a picnic theme going on. Rather than make one enormous post, I felt it would be easier for me and for you if I made it into shorter, easier to manage posts. Plus, this allowed me to keep the recipes separate. There is a whole lot of backlinking. Those that did not work Monday, should work now since they are published. 😉 That’s what happens when I get ahead of myself.
I guess it’s better to be ahead of the game for once than be behind like I have been these last few weeks. [Read more…]
Hello! I’m Mr. YUM. AKA “Matt’s Meals.” I’ve done a few posts around here, but the Mrs. has always done them under her name and just tagged them. Well guess what?
She’s allowing me to have my own logins and username.
Yah. Cool, right?
Of course she still is going to edit and take care of the photos. But, at least I get to help with some of the posts. I know keeping up with her own cooking and recipes is hard work. So, I figured why not? I have a little time on my hands. I should help. [Read more…]
I’ve been trying to come up with some meal plan ideas (you know, new and different) since I canned all of those wonderful tomatoes. That’s when I stumbled on Craftsy.
Oh, Craftsy where have you been all of my life?
First, I got lost in one of the free classes they offered – Perfect Pizza at Home. Now that was some serious YUM nomage right there.
Then, I did some more poking around I noticed a class for Classic Italian Pasta Sauces: Meat and Tomato.
Ohhhh. Emmmm. Geeeeee.
I’m pretty sure these recipes are going to consist of tomatoes, puree, stewed tomatoes, and tomato paste along with some vegetables like onions and green peppers, all of which are in my canned tomatoes. I have made my own sauce out of my canned tomatoes. I’m really interested in this class now.
Classic Italian Pasta Sauces: Meat & Tomato. If I don’t come up for air soon you can find me hidden under the empty jars of canned tomato.
Damn you Craftsy, damn you.
