As I type this I am enjoying freshly brewed K-cup coffee with some Pumpkin Spice cream. I love this time of year when everything is pumpkin flavored.  I’ve started the season with some pumpkin butter, ginger-spiced pumpkin muffins and even some pumpkin dog treats!

What are some of your favorite pumpkin treats?

Now that we have the pumpkin talk out of the way, let’s get back to the coffee talk.

I’ve an avid tea drinker and up until the last few years my coffee drinking consisted of a few iced blended drinks like Mocha Big Trains from the local coffee house in Stillwater, OK or some flavored (usually pumpkin) cappuccino here and there in the winter. When I moved to MI it became apparent that coffee was in order to warm me in the winter. I came to appreciate it more as I aged.

It’s International Coffee Day. What is International Coffee Day you ask? Good thing you ask because I had no idea it was International Coffee day until I got back from getting some cold medicine this morning and picking up some pumpkin spice creamer for my own coffee. I fired up the computer and saw the Mashable infographic on Google+ I knew I had to run over and check out the article.

International Coffee Day according to Wikipedia (because that information is never wrong, right?) says that it’s an “annual event observed in a handful of countries for the celebration and enjoyment of the popular beverage coffee. This day is also used to promote fair trade coffee and to raise awareness for the plight of the coffee growers.”

Awesome.

I’ll drink to that.

So, in checking out the Mashable infographic which lists all the different types of coffee and what your coffee preference says about you gives me mixed views. In the hottest part of the summer I’m an Iced Coffee. When I’m out I’m a Coffee-To-Go. At home I’m just a regular brewed coffee with some unsweetened almond milk.  According to the Mashable mix I am assertive and outspoken, serious and focused. I also like straws.

And – I dig cardboard sleeves.

Will you be celebrating International Coffee Day?
