The Edward Village is going to wrap up my weekend in Dearborn. We started with Greenfield Village, spent the night here at the Edward Village and then spent the next day at the Henry Ford museum. Despite the rainy weather, we actually had a really great time. [Read More…]
Hey! Look at me go! Two posts in one week. Isn’t that crazy?!?!? It’s summer. That’s one excuse. The other excuse, it’s summer! Seriously. Life is going full speed ahead and it’s ahhhhh-mazing. There are so many changes that it would take about 10 posts to get it all out there. Don’t worry, I still have to catch you up on the Conscious Uncoupling and bring you full circle to all the things going on in my little world.
First things first, let’s get going on the other part of our Dearborn, MI weekend. The other day I posted about Greenfield Village which is the outdoor museum located by the Henry Ford museum, which is what I am going to show you today. [Read More…]
Back in June – I know, I know. Y’all are saying “Chrys, what is up with you and your extreme delay in posting???” Well, guys… life is CRAZY! And I really need it to slow down just a little bit so there are enough hours in my day to get everything done.
Ok, so back in June, we decided to take a little mini-vacay and head down I-75 and check out Greenfield Village, part of the Henry Ford Museum experience. I’ve been here before but it’s been a few years, so it was due time to head down and make some new memories. [Read More…]
2016 has (so-far) been a total transformation for me. Although I am chipping away at things slowly but surly, these small steps have been monumental in my overall health and wellness. It has been THREE years since I have done a 5k. As those years passed me by, my mental and physical health plummeted deeper and deeper. I had wondered before my ex and I split if there was ever going to be a time where I would feel good again. Never during those years did I think my life would be going at the pace it is going now.
Okay you guys. Chrys here. This is Js first blog post… I asked for a simple paragraph to post in the blog post and he basically writes the whole thing for me! What a great dude, eh?

It’s no big secret that I love mushrooms; I practically put them in everything I eat. I love my mother’s full-fat cream cheese and cheddar cheese glory full of countless calories even more. But, I just can’t keep eating those and expect to see the numbers change on the scale. I did really well for a while and then I started to get comfortable.
My first 5k of the season is coming up in a few weeks and I’ve decided I really want to play roller derby next season so I have got to get myself in the best shape I possibly can. That means ramping up my exercise and slimming down my calories. [Read More…]

When Matt and I were still living together, one of his/my favorite things to do was take the leftovers and create some sort of fried rice dinner. He’s made the majority of the ethnic cuisines shared here on Nevermore Lane. This one is no exception. It’s no big secret that he and I parted ways recently causing a shift in my life and changes in my living situation. As a result, my blog schedule fell to the wayside. Now that the YUMeating website has been merged and forwarded, I getting back on track with my blog schedule. [Read More…]

Welcome to the first day of the 30 day blog challenge which I am sure to drop the ball on. 😉 But I am going to try my best not to.
I know, guys. I am so sorry. I just haven’t been in much of a blogging mood. I mean, I have so many great and wonderful things to share, but I am taking some much needed time to work on myself. And part of that involved getting back to my authentic writing self. I have done a few of these #AtoZChallenges in the past on my old writing website. I am using this challenge to document the journey I am on right now and you can read a little more about that on the Theme Reveal post. [Read More…]
